Module 1 - Setting The Tone

Duration: 1h 15m

This module will ensure you set the right tone for your birth. You'll learn how to:

  • Develop the right mindset for your birth
  • Choose the right people to support you
  • Create a warm, comfortable environment in your labor room
  • Capture the most important memories
  • Approach placenta encapsulation & umbilical cord blood banking
  • Deal with learners (medical students and resident physicians)

Module 2 - The Details Of Labor

Duration: 2h 05m

You'll understand the ins and outs of labor with this module. You'll learn about:

  • The stages of labor
  • Your options for coping with labor pain, from medication free techniques to epidurals
  • The options for monitoring your baby during labor
  • What's safe for you to eat and drink in labor
  • Techniques for pushing and avoiding vaginal tears
  • What should happen in the first hour after your baby's birth

Module 3 - The Possibilities

Duration: 1h 50m

You'll be prepared for the common possibilities that may arise during your labor and birth. You'll learn:

  • Techniques for labor induction (both traditional and non-traditional techniques and risks involved)
  • When labor may need to be helped along
  • The surprising factor that determines whether or not you get an episiotomy

Module 4 - The Postpartum Period

This modules cover what you need to know for the immediate postpartum period. You'll learn:

  • The 10 steps to successful breastfeeding as well as how to deal with common pitfalls
  • What happens during your hospital stay after you have your baby 
  • The what, why, how, and risks of the Vitamin K injection, Hepatitis B vaccine, and antibiotic eye ointment
  • The benefits and risks of male circumcision as well as some lesser known tidbits about the procedure
  • Warning signs to look out for in the postpartum period

Module 5 - Your Birth Wishes

We commonly say "birth plan", however, the truth is, birth cannot be planned. But you certainly have wishes for how you'd like things to go! In this lesson you'll learn two factors that have a huge influence on how your birth experience unfolds. You'll also learn how to make your birth wishes so that they're most likely to be realized. 

Module 6 - Putting It All Together

Duration: 0h 15m

In this final lesson of the course, you'll see how everything comes together. This lesson summarizes the key points from the course to ensure you're knowledgeable, prepared, confident and empowered to have the birth experience you desire.  Also included is what you need to take to the hospital to have during labor and after birth.

Hi there! I'm Nicole - a wife, mother to 2 girls, OB/GYN Physician and Certified Integrative Health Coach. My passion is providing respectful, holistic, evidence-based care and resources to help you have a healthy birth and healthy life. I've been in practice for over 10 years and I approach birth as the normal, natural process that it is. It is a great privilege for me to help women through childbirth, and I’m so excited to share my knowledge and expertise with you during your pregnancy and childbirth journey!
